Project actions

The actions foreseen by ResilForMed are:

PREPARATORY ACTION

A1 To point out on maps, at regional and landscape scale, the most risky areas due to climate change

A2 Data collection and analysis on traditional and consuetudinary practices carried out locally;

A3 Analysis, evaluation and quantification of net final impacts of climate changes in Sicilian forest;

A4 To define, through indicators, the role of communities and ecosystems, in the strategies of adapting to climate changes.

IMPLEMENTATION ACTIONS

B1 To point out the best management models to improve resilience of forest environments,

B2 Implementation of main selvicoltural techniques supporting evolution dynamics of forest systems (naturalisation, boosting of pre-forest processes) (120 hectares of concrete interventions in forest),

B3 Implementing the best forest management models through a participatory table with local communities;

B4 Writing of the new Regional Forest Plan.
